Comprehensive evaluation of education programming in Hawai'i

Job Description

We are conducting a developmental evaluation of an education-focused program in Hawai'i.

In this role, you will work closely with several remote Delivery Associates colleagues and our partners to manage the program evaluation - using both quantitative and qualitative methods - and associated activities. You will be engaged as a part-time (25%) contractor on a six-month contract, with possibility to extend for more limited support for an additional two years.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders to understand progress
  • Facilitate problem-solving, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Develop evaluation instruments, both quantitative (regression analysis) and qualitative (surveys and interview guides)
  • Conduct focus groups, interviews, and/or field observations to answer qualitative research questions
  • Support quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Write reports and present findings
  • Establish and drive regular routines for convening stakeholders
  • Support high-level meetings, including planning agendas, drafting talking points, preparing meeting materials, and briefing participants
  • Motivate stakeholders towards action, instilling urgency and ensuring work progresses according to agreed timelines
  • Trouble-shoot implementation issues as they arise
Candidate Description:

Successful candidates must demonstrate an interest in delivering meaningful, measurable results for students. They will also have a thirst for learning about effective implementation, evaluation, and the Deliverology® approach, which is the basis for DA’s work around the world.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Build solid relationships: demonstrate experience building trust-based relationships and partnerships to deliver shared goals
  • Participate in problem solving: analyze complex problems, identify key issues, and simplify the approach to solving them
  • Provide challenge and effective feedback: demonstrate strong influencing and negotiating skills and give constructive feedback
  • Work well in a team: show track record of team working, especially when teams are drawn from across organizations with different cultures
  • Use data and other evidence to make arguments and solve problems: think analytically, translate technical information to a lay audience
  • Write high quality presentations and reports: demonstrate writing concise prose, clear narrative and well-structured documents
  • Facilitate and communicate effectively: lead interactive workshops with stakeholders and deliver high quality training sessions to groups of trainees
Required Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or higher in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data analysis, program evaluation, and/or project management, preferably in an educational or public sector
  • Located in Hawai’I, with US work authorization
  • Written and spoken fluency in English
  • Proficiency in a statistical programming language (i.e. R, Stata) preferred
