About this position 

The HR Advisor is the first point of contact for colleagues in the EMEA & APAC regions  on HR policies and terms and conditions. They oversee people processes in the regions  including onboarding, benefits & compensation administration, maintaining the colleague handbook and supporting on performance management and talent mapping. 

In addition, the HR Advisor is a member of the wider Central Team and works on  global people initiatives and projects under the People Delivery Plan.  

Key duties  

  • Be the first point of contact for colleagues in the region on people matters,  providing guidance as needed and resolving any issues. 
  • Maintain HR templates including employment contracts and letters regarding  changes to terms and conditions. 
  • Keep up to date with employment law and regulations and make recommendations to leadership to ensure compliance. 
  • Participate in shaping and working towards the firm’s People Delivery Plan,  leading on projects as needed. 
  • Maintain the colleague handbook.
  • Coordinate recruitment activity for the region, including managing candidates  through the process, liaising with hiring managers, carrying out reference  checks and issuing contracts. 
  • Work with the Head of People to support Associate Directors in evaluating  talent, planning resources and shaping development plans. 
  • Maintain complete and accurate records in the HR and Recruitment systems. • Provide support to management in handling people matters. 
  • Provide support and advise on employee relations cases. 
  • Manage the relationship with the external payroll and benefits service,  providing timely and accurate information as needed.  
  • Gather and analyze data on useful HR and people metrics, including time to  hire and equity in pay and benefits etc.  
  • Coordinate and contribute to the design of training and development  activities. 
  • Oversee the onboarding of new colleagues  
  • Coordinate immigration matters for colleagues, including visas applications.  Liaise with external immigration lawyers as required. 
  • Coordinate performance, reward and promotion activities, providing data as  needed. 
  • Contribute to the design and analysis of colleague engagement surveys and  action plans to address feedback. 
  • Oversee the leavers process, including gathering in company equipment,  liaising with Payroll on final payments, closing records and carrying out exit  interviews. 

Role-specific requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or a  related filed. 
  • 3-5 years’ generalist HR experience, preferably in a professional services  environment (consulting, legal, accounting etc.) 
  • CIPD qualification preferred. 
  • Excellent understanding of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law and employment equity regulations. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Able to work as part of a dispersed team with a collaborative and results driven  approach. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal clients at all levels and a  customer service orientation. 
  • Creative problem-solving skills, natural curiosity and critical thinking. 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Proficient at using HR and recruitment systems and platforms.  
  • Ability to multi-task effectively. 
  • Independent project management skills and a proactive approach to making  improvements.  
  • Excellent computer literacy with strong capability in Microsoft Excel and  Powerpoint.  
  • Written and spoken fluency in English.
