General Role Description - Product Manager

This role requires an ability to partner with organizations from the public sector, multilaterals, and philanthropies to develop products that will drive measurable impact through data collection, progress monitoring and targeted problem solving. An ideal candidate would be able to work across functional and technical teams, translate business requirements to technical specifications (and vice versa), and run multiple work streams efficiently and effectively. This role will regularly collaborate with non-technical peers and clients; and be expected to semi-regularly brief and engage with stakeholders working in public sector contexts.  

All successful candidates must demonstrate an interest in delivering meaningful, measurable results. They will also have a thirst for learning about delivery and the Deliverology® approach, which is the basis for DA’s work around the world.

Required Skills / Experiences

• Demonstrated ability to work remotely in a dynamic environment, closely collaborating with engineers and designers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate conversations, influence key decision makers and coach others in different contexts
• Logical thinking to sequence and break down complex problems into actionable items
• Demonstrated experience with lean startup methodologies, agile development methodologies, and working directly with clients/users
• Experience of leading a full product lifecycle and expanding digital practices, including identifying opportunities, defining product vision and strategy, producing outcome-driven roadmaps and managing backlogs, and delivering support
• Direct experience with clients - understanding the needs of a project, along with trends and opportunities in the space
• Deep understanding of user testing - user empathy and user experience sensibilities to articulate and test product hypotheses
• Demonstrated ability to lead and improve user experience and engagement of existing products through an iterative and consultative process
• Demonstrated ability to define and track measurable success criteria including KPIs
  
  

Desired Skills / Experiences

• 3-5+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience leading or supporting user research
• Experience and strong interest in working with governments or non-profits a plus
• Experience working with or inside enterprise scale organizations a plus
