Summary
Haseeb is a passionate and dedicated professional committed to mitigating the impacts of climate change. With a background in sustainability, he is well-equipped to contribute towards renewable energy, carbon markets, and the net zero emissions framework.
Education
  • MSc, Sustainable Energy Systems, University of Edinburgh
  • BE, Electrical Engineering, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro
Delivery Experience

Haseeb is supporting the Government of Pakistan (GoP) in designing the country’s Net Zero Strategy. As a native of the rural Sindh province, he has personally witnessed the devastating impacts of climate change, particularly during the 2022 floods when his community was severely affected; he is proud to be part of meaningful work against climate change. The Net Zero Strategy will be groundbreaking for Pakistan, as it sets targets and defines the roadmap at the sectoral level for each province. The Strategy also seeks to ensure an equitable transition towards a low carbon future by addressing gender equality, youth involvement, just transition measures, compliance with Sustainable Development Goals, and the promotion of socio-economic development.

Other Experience

During his experience at Power Technology Research (PTR), a client approached PTR for historical data and future trends in fuel cell electric vehicles. While the client was initially apprehensive, Haseeb and his team impressed the client with their proposal. During the project, Haseeb was responsible for data collection, modeling, and forecasting for 12 European countries, and for communicating the information back to the client. The client was pleased with the team’s methodology, data quality, and work ethic, and submitted an additional order with PTR.

In 2017, Haseeb was selected to participate in the global undergraduate exchange program (Global UGRAD), during which he studied and represented his culture in the US. He met new people, made connections, participated in cultural events, volunteered as a tutor for students with Down syndrome, and traveled the country. In 2020, he was selected for a commonwealth masters scholarship at the University of Edinburgh. There, he dedicated his time to studying sustainable energy systems, conducting primary and secondary research, making new connections, sharing culture with colleagues, and traveling around the UK.
