Alan is a creative problem solver and engaging presenter working with cities in the American Cities Climate Challenge to enact powerful change, build strong networks, and work towards continuous improvement for greater climate and equity impact.
Alan has organized over 20 events (in-person and virtual) for over 500 staff from cities, NGO, and foundations to collaborate and problem-solve across sectors, as well as to build a network of climate actors in the American Cities Climate Challenge. He has supported Denver, Atlanta, and St. Petersburg in building out climate resilience and mitigation programs, including the design of Denver's equitable green jobs program. He has directed 8 stocktakes across these cities to help city staff problem-solve with mayors on key climate issues.
Alan has a background in business development, designing pricing, strategy, and a Corporate Social Responsibility program for an indoor vertical farming startup, helping reduce the climate impacts of growing fresh produce. Additionally, he worked as the Hickenlooper campaign lead for Climate Changemakers, an advocacy organization seeking to elect climate leaders to office.
