Allie has worked with non-profits, philanthropies, and state and local governments on issues related to education, workforce, and data systems. Her interests include data-driven public policy and advancing educational equity in the U.S. and around the world.
Allie is leveraging her knowledge and experience in education to help the Walton Foundation create a vision and strategy for investment in education data policy and advocacy.
When schools closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, Allie led research efforts to determine if and how states could measure student academic growth—a critical data point for evaluating school quality—without 2020 test scores. She helped assemble a coalition of educational leaders, advocates, and measurement experts to better understand the problem, and authored a first-of-its-kind report on recommendations and considerations for state leaders. Multiple states implemented the recommendations and went on to publish 2021 growth data.
