Aparna is a strategic thinker with strong facilitation and creative problem-solving skills. She helps government and foundation partners break down and prioritize among complex challenges quickly, as well as design and implement effective policies to improve residents' lives.
Aparna currently co-leads the US Mayors Challenge team, which works with eight cities to implement bold, innovative ideas to facilitate positive change. Aparna also works with international philanthropic foundations to design data-informed, impactful investment strategies. Her work includes mapping ecosystems, analyzing performance data, and identifying opportunities to make progress against ambitious goals, with a particular focus on equity and effectiveness.
Aparna was a senior strategy consultant in Deloitte's Government and Public Sector practice, helping US federal agencies and partners with strategic problem solving, customer experience, market research, governance design, and process improvement. Previously, she was a program specialist at the US Institute of Peace, managing programs and research projects in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. Aparna has been a consultant to multiple state agencies and to Mastercard's Marketing and Sales team in Europe; she has also advised start-ups in emerging markets on scaling.
