A Delivery Leader covering the Europe region, Jacob currently works in support of a global philanthropic organisation to enable the delivery of improved citizen outcomes through innovative local government solutions. This involves advising on the policy implementation of ambitious projects in varying contexts and across different target areas of reform—from accessible and positive education to social impact investment, entrepreneurship, and social cohesion and solidarity.
Before joining DA, Jacob was the founding director of his own policy advisory business that covered commercial, public, and non-profit clients in Australia and the United Kingdom. This work ranged from producing in-depth research and strategic advice on policy problems to supporting advocacy efforts around strengthening democracy and effective government. Jacob spent several years working as a political adviser at the state and federal levels in Australia. As an Adviser in the Office of the Prime Minister, he assisted the stewardship of vital legislation during the COVID-19 pandemic and coordinated across government to implement electoral reform.
Jacob has made a parliamentary submission on civic engagement and a speech on tackling the mental health crisis. He is also an Officer in the Australian Army Reserves and has written about lessons of leadership.
