Karina believes good management, data and empathy drive positive impact in the world. She brings hands-on experience in public education and government advisory.
Karina is designing a roadmap for the Lemann Foundation to help achieve excellence and diversity in people management in the Brazilian public sector.
As a teacher through Ensina Brasil’s competitive leadership program (the Brazilian equivalent of Teach for America), 45% of Karina’s 200 students reported they did not feel part of the internal school community. In response, she designed, structured and implemented a Life Project, which mobilized teachers to incorporate a social-emotional learning component in their courses. In the end, 86% of students participated in additional school activities and were empowered to think about their futures. The project’s success was recognized with the Conectando Saberes (Lemann Foundation) teaching award.
