Katherine is an economist who is passionate about providing development opportunities for all, and who excels at breaking complex problems down into comprehensive parts. She has extensive experience designing and analyzing public policies, and oversaw Peru’s National Budget Formulation.
Katherine is currently working to improve health outcomes at the Regional Hospital of Cajamarca in Peru, which is the largest health establishment in the region and provides services to more than 1.5 million people. She is working with the hospital to improve the performance of emergency, external consultation and references department services and to implement quick wins.
Prior to joining DA, Katherine was project manager of the National Budget Formulation in Peru’s Ministry of Economy and Finance. In this role, she successfully delivered the 2022-2024 budget proposal for Congress in the middle of a government election period and the COVID-19 crisis. She led the process of defining priorities, allocating funds, debating and approving the Peruvian national budget for 2022 (US$ 50 billion) with 170+ professionals at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Katherine also has experience supporting the design and analysis of public policies at the Inter-American Development Bank (Washington, DC), the Foreign Trade Society (ComexPerú), the Research Center of the Universidad del Pacífico (CIUP) and the Ministry of Education of Peru.
