Her career includes significant roles at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where she led global initiatives in tobacco control, noncommunicable diseases, and environmental health. Dr. Asma has authored more than 100 publications, book chapters, and policy papers on epidemiology, surveillance, and data-driven public health policy. She earned her degree in dentistry from Bangalore University, India, and a Master’s in Public Health from University College London, United Kingdom.

Dr. Arwa Alameen is a leading expert in health statistics and data analysis, currently serving as General Manager of the Statistics and Information Department at the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia. Since 2020, she has spearheaded efforts to improve health data quality, manage cross-sectoral data integration, and issue critical reports that support decision-making.

Dr. Alameen also chairs the Technical Committee for the 2023 Population Health Survey and has worked extensively with international organizations like the WHO to develop Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicators.
